Oceanic-Continental Convergent Boundary
An Oceanic-Continental Convergence Boundary is the type of boundary where you would find narrow curving trenches. On pubs.usgs.gov, it states, "If we could plug and drain the Pacific Ocean, we would see the most amazing sight--" I just stated for you that amazing sight-- narrow curving trenches. These plates are created by subduction, or the process that takes place at Convergent Boundaries by which one tectonic plate moves under another tectonic plate and sinks into the mantle as the plates converge ~Wikipedia. You would find this type of boundary off the coast of South America along the Peru-Chile trench. This type of boundary creates mountains, volcanoes, and powerful earthquakes. Did you know one of the deepest subduction earthquake was here? Happily, no one was hurt by this crazy earthquake.
