The Layers of Earth
The layers of Earth are the pieces of the inside of Earth. I know that sounds confusing, but it really isn't. Think of it as a cake: cakes have different layers. The layers of Earth are the crust (lithosphere), the Mantle, and the Core. There are parts of these parts which are called Continental, Oceanic, Asthenosphere, Mesosphere, Outer Core, and the Inner Core. If you think of it as a cake, this cake is probably 10 feet tall already. All of these layers are different. Such as the lithosphere; which is the shell of the Earth. We live on the shell of the Earth! The Mantle is thick and is in between the crust (lithosphere) and the crust. The Mantle is made up of molten rock. The Core is the final layer of the Earth. We know little about the Core because we've never traveled there before. But we do know about the Outer and Inner Core. The Outer Core is made up of liquid, and the Inner Core is made up of solid material such as iron and nickel.
